We use a public API gateway called fxtwitter, which exposes Twitter's media metadata in a clean JSON format. When you paste a tweet URL, our backend retrieves the video URL from the gateway and passes it to your browser for direct download. Your browser then fetches the file straight from Twitter's CDN, never through our servers. This means: fast downloads, original quality, and no privacy concerns.
We support all tweets containing native video uploads — that includes regular video tweets, reply videos, and quoted tweets with video. Both twitter.com and x.com URLs work (Twitter's domain change from 2023). We do NOT support: live broadcasts (Twitter Spaces), embedded YouTube videos (download those from YouTube directly), or video DMs. For tweets with multiple videos, we return them all so you can pick which one to save.
